One easy way to integrate your winter wardrobe into spring is to wear your knits, but this time around without a heavy outerwear. This sweater has been a staple in my winter closet- it is lightweight and good for layering and the mint color itself makes it all the more easy to incorporate in any spring outfit.
As I had mentioned in a post last week ( here ) that #monochromatic is one fashion trend I'll be rocking this spring, I am sure living up to what comes through my mind.
Keep reading for a few tips on how you could rock this trend effortlessly...........
Rule #1- choose colors that flatter your skin. Having picked out the right color will just enhance any outfit and will always make you feel and look your best.
Rule #2- after color comes texture and pattern. The key to achieving interest in any monochromatic look is to mix different textures and patterns. For instance in my minty fresh look- the sweater is a soft knit and the skirt has woven jacquard pattern, which makes this look everything but boring.
Rule #3- always have a third piece. To break the color monotony, choose a third clothing item when wearing a skirt and top combo. It could be a jacket, a scarf or even a cardigan, a third piece will guaranteed take the look up all notches. A denim jacket never disappoints and is always the safest bet over anything.
Rule #4- last but not the least: 'don't overdo!' It may seem easier to just go for a look which has fifty shades of the same color, head-to-toe, but honestly unless you are a color-connoisuer, don't even think about it. It's usually a hit or a miss, and my experience has always witnessed a miss. So in short, keep your accessories neutral just like I played safe with my tan shoes and tan bag. Neutrals always add that I-am-loving-it element to any look.
These are for my rules.....do you have any rules for rocking this #monochromatic trend ????
