Ever since I was allowed my own shopping independence, I have had this love and only love relationship with anything and everything in a silk fabric. There is something about a silk silhouette that keeps me reaching out to one all the time: it is soft, feels great against the skin and brings out the elegant in you. I am really particular about what I put on myself: anything cheap looking and of an artificially-made fabric has always been a mood-downer for me. Cotton and silk are my favorites and the fabrics of my life.
I am glad brands now make silk clothing in a summer-friendly silk knit. This easy-breezy silk top, which BTW comes in several other colors ( another color on me here ), made way to my closet very recently. As a preferred card-holder at Banana Republic, this top came home on a members-only-deal-day, for an unbeatable price of under $25.
bermuda shorts- Gap
It is a half-button-front, slightly sheer, loose-fitting silk tunic and comes in petite, regular and tall sizes. With all intentions of paring them with pair of white skinnies, I bought mine in a Small Tall. It does fit on the baggier side, so if you want a more fitted-look, size down.
I styled mine with these bermuda shorts, taking the shorts-style up a notch. I was feeling my brightest on this day, hence the matchy-matchy red heels and perforated red clutch. One very unusual, unlikely me was the addition of the pair of turquoise hoops. I wouldn't really wear one when casual is on my mind, but I told ya: I was feeling my brightest and adding another hint of color couldn't harm the look, just enhance my sunny-side-up look......lol !
