In the history of my blog, precisely two years, this is the first time I am writing a post on Saturday. It has to be something special and exciting, that makes me go out of my blogging schedule and post this. . Well........YES !
As a blogger of any field, you aspire to see success, fame and get that acknowledged for your work. For what I do, primarily fashion blogging, some people look at it as a job, one that involves these three steps- 1)wear fancy clothes (2) take pictures ( 3) post and amplify the same. Honestly, it takes a village, a lot of planning and immense coordination to bring to your feed a fresh look, a fresh perspective every single day. When your looks or your posts, get most likes on any social media, you know your efforts are paying off, but you know you've made it to the fame list (wink wink ) when a big opportunity comes your way. I knew it was my moment of fame, when CURRENT BOUTIQUE reached out to me for being a part of their e-campaign. It was like hitting a jackpot.
Sometimes I would question myself - " do people really read my blog, do they actually like my style and fashion looks, or is it just me and my closest of friends who stop be everyday to say hello ??" Well, after all these years of blogging, writing numerous posts- some sponsored some for the sake of search engine optimization, my blogging suddenly started to make meaning, when I was offered this opportunity.
CURRENT BOUTIQUE is a modern clothing and accessories consignment store based out of VA, with four different location in DMV area. They recently launched their e-commerce store and as a part of this promotional for their e-commerce store, they approached me. I have consigned with them before, but I had no idea that their other locations were as huge as the one I normally consigned with. With racks full of clothes and shoes and accessories, both high end and mid range brands, you are guaranteed to walk out gushing with that pride of scoring a deal. I am so excited that they now have an online store, which would give me the convenience of shopping any time, any hour. You could use the code "BLOGDEAL20" for a 20% your online purchase.
I met with the Tajaa, the Social Media Manager for Current Boutique at the Old Town Alexandria location. She was so humble and accommodating and sweet. She had three head-to-toe outfits picket out for me, all clothing and accessories courtesy of Current Boutique. I was given the freedom to choose an outfit that I thought was me. I chose this dress and the jacket combo. After the hair and makeup was done, we walked around the neighborhood taking pictures, finally making our way to the Sugar Cube store.
